Q: Students lead in U:PASS for a wide variety of reasons – to mentor, to gain leadership skills, to improve communication skills, to get educational experience, to see what it’s like working for UTS. What’s something you feel you have gained in one (or more) of these areas over the last fortnight? Why?
A: One of the main reasons I lead in U:PASS this semester was to improve my communication skills. In the last two weeks I have already noticed my confidence when speaking to large groups of people increase as a result of speaking in front of my U:PASS sessions.
I think this is amazing as it shows that U:PASS is not only great for the attending students but for those who lead as well. Learning can be had by the leader and the attendees!
